QBS is up for a trinity of prizes at the inaugural Lloyds Bank British Excellence Awards, taking place 9 November at the glitzy Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London.
QBS has made the finals for:
- Lloyds Bank Mid-Market Business of the Year;
- Scale-Up Business of the Year; and
- LDC Entrepreneur of the Year titles.
Celebrating the advent of what organisers describe as a “Great British business comeback”, the awards are set to recognise people and organisations that have achieved “something truly special” in the last 18 months.
“It’s about rewarding growth, creativity and innovation among UK-based businesses, from new initiatives launched to help people and communities during the pandemic, to examples of strong growth and expansion in spite of challenging circumstances,” according to an announcement.
QBS will duke it out against firms from a range of sectors turning over £25m a year or more for Mid-Market Business of the Year. The prize seeks to showcase companies that expect to continue to see spectacular growth against fierce competition in established markets.
“At QBS, we’ve worked consistently to build on strong results, continuing to innovate in products, services and processes,” said Dave Stevinson, group CEO at QBS.
“We also focus on an ethical approach to business that adds value for customers and staff alike.”
Growth and engagement that generates success
QBS’s continued growth also attracted nomination for Scale-up Business of the Year, which highlights UK-based SMBs and start-ups that have taken an impressive leap forward in sales terms, relative to competition and market size.
High levels of employee engagement also play a big role in this category, according to organisers.
Additionally, QBS is on the shortlist for LDC Entrepreneur of the Year, which aims to incentivise inspiring and visionary leaders from public sector, private business, or the third sector.
According to media sponsor inews.co.uk‘s money editor Sarah Davidson, the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellent Awards will recognise some of the UK’s most creative businesses — including “a host of disruptive companies in sectors as diverse as recruitment, ice cream and fashion” during one of the worst periods in British business history.
Finalists will present to the judging panel in September before the final awards ceremony in November, run by Sarah Austin Events.
